Payne Security is a supplier of ITSO approved smart cards to many Transport Concessionary Authorities as part of the English National Concessionary Travel Scheme (ENCTS).

Payne Security is fully certified to v. 2.1.3, to personalise and encode ITSO-compliant smart cards.

Our solutions continue to meet the demanding security, personalisation and ITSO encoding needs of the DfT English National Concessionary Travel project, encompassing data cleansing, on-site Perso-POST solutions and the latest high-volume digital print technology for centralised card production, encoding and fulfilment.

To respond to high-volume production of personalised and encoded ITSO-compliant contactless smart cards, every part of the manufacturing process is located in-house, under one roof.  Our capabilities ensured that from February to March 2008, at the very beginning of the scheme, we were one of the few suppliers to issue ENCTS cards on time to all our TCA customers.

As part of the scheme, all existing TCA customers previously using a variety of Mifare 1kB/4kB cards were successfully switched over to DESFire 4kB EV1 from 04.01.2010 in line with the ITSO standards.
