Scope of the Role:
The position of PID Buyer is a new, exciting and challenging role within a wider developing purchasing team.  Working in a fast moving, service driven environment you will have direct responsibility for the procurement of your specific range of products.  You will help manage inventory levels whilst working with suppliers and internal customers to drive down costs and encourage product and service quality improvements, whilst ensuring that supply chain processes and controls are maintained.     

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Key duties and responsibilities of this role are:

• Control of ordering required stock and bespoke items in an accurate and timely manner.
• Negotiate prices, discounts and lead-times with suppliers including very close liaison with the OEM’s whilst building and maintaining good relationships.
• Purchase order processing.
• Solving invoice queries and feeding back due delivery dates for outstanding purchase orders.
• Liaise with both suppliers and the commercial teams to resolve any stock/logistics/quality issues

Key Skills and Attributes:
You’ll need experience within a purchasing environment and either CIPS qualified or working towards the qualification.  You will need good negotiation, communication and Microsoft skills and to be self-motivated with a positive attitude, able to build relationships easily over the phone with suppliers and internal customers.
