Taggant Innovation Wins Award at PISEC 07

Taggant Reader

Payne Security’s new proprietary taggant authentication system – which represents the next generation in highly secure, covert devices for brand owners, governments and other organizations – has been commended by PISEC at the 8th Global Product and Image Security Convention held in November 2007.

Payne Security’s taggants are chemical markers which are easily integrated, through using most standard printing, spray coating and inkjet printing techniques to provide an authentication signature at the item level.  While taggants are a widely recognised authentication technology, the specific composition of each Payne Security marker makes it almost impossible to replicate.

The new system uses a patented proprietary reading technology to authenticate products and documents, without which potential counterfeiters cannot locate the position and appearance of the taggant.  Using a lightweight handheld reader, company personnel, customs officials or authorised agents can check for the taggants unique fingerprint to simply and accurately determine whether the item is authentic.

Payne Security’s taggant authentication system makes an ideal authentication tool down to individual item level and can help across a variety of end user markets to verify genuine products quickly and easily.

The system was entered in the Anti-Forgery Technology category at the PISEC Awards and was commended by the judges.
