The commitment to staff development shown by Payne Security has been recognised with the award of Investors in People (IiP) Gold status.

Payne Security is a leading supplier to the identity & valuable document market, providing a range of authentication technologies, printed film and card based solutions.

The announcement follows an external review of Payne Security’s site in Banbury, and sister company Payne, in Nottingham and Cardiff, during December 2011. Between them, the locations employ around 280 people.

To achieve Gold status standard Payne Security not only had to demonstrate that the management has the right strategies for employee communication, development and engagement; but also provide compelling evidence that all employees are fully engaged in the development of the business and of themselves.

Divisional managing director Tony Edwards says: “This is an outstanding achievement by each and every employee at our UK sites.

“We should all feel very proud that not only have we retained our Investors in People accreditation, but to have achieved the Gold standard, which has been introduced since we won our original award.”

Receiving Investors in People Gold status is the latest accolade for Payne Security, which received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category in 2011. The Banbury and Nottingham sites previously held Investors in People accreditation, but this is the first time Gold status, introduced in 2009, has been conferred to the business.

Launched by the Government in 1991, Investors in People is the UK's leading people management standard. It exists as a business improvement tool designed to help all kinds of organisations develop performance through their people.
