Online ID Card Ordering Service Passes School Test

Online Ordering ID cards

Payne Security has provided a Flintshire secondary school with its ID card requirements using its online card ordering service that gives customers greater flexibility, cost-efficiency and convenience in their personal ID card needs.

Argoed High School, located only a few miles away from Payne Security’s manufacturing site in Mold, is an existing customer of the company.  In 2007, when science teacher Howard Goodson arranged a school trip to France, he discovered that the pupils needed photo ID on them at all times.  Preferring not to risk them losing their passports, he asked Payne Security to supply alternative ID designed especially for use on the trip.

This proved a great success so, with a repeat trip planned in 2008, the school made a new order for ID cards.  Payne Security had a better idea, as the company had recognised the potential of its new online card ordering portal in providing the school with its multiple ID requirements.

“Our online ordering service fulfills a vital part of Payne Security’s commitment to being a full card management solutions provider,” explains Simon Wildash, Head of Marketing at Payne Security.  “With customer service paramount, we value feedback on the development of the system, so we are delighted to have the opportunity to work with Argoed High School as one of the first users of the system.”

The service is designed to assist customers by taking the potentially time-consuming and costly process of creating ID cards for large numbers of personnel, pupils or members out of the hands of the organisation entirely.  All that is required is for data and photographs to be sent by either a secure server or via its online ordering portal to Payne Security’s facility in Mold, where trained staff will then take charge of the complete card production process and, where required, fulfilment, delivering the card back to the intended recipient.

Argoed High School was asked to collate images and details of all pupils and teachers making the trip and send them to Payne Security.  Within days, the order had been processed and the new batch of cards issued to the school.

The test confirmed the efficiency of the service.  “You don’t need to be computer literate to use the service; once you understand the basics, it’s self-explanatory,” comments Howard Goodson.  “The software is compatible with Excel, making the creation of databases an easy process.”

“The quality of cards is also excellent, matching the high standard of those supplied last year,” he adds.

“Providing Argoed with their ID cards has been invaluable, helping us to further develop the service, and as confirmation that the online ordering service is as user-friendly and functional as we intend it to be,” confirms Simon Wildash.
